Dieses frühere Gasthaus aus dem 16. Jahrhundert begrüßt Sie im Herzen der malerischen und historischen Ortschaft Lewes. Trotz seiner modernen Einrichtungen ist im White Hart Hotel der Reiz der Alten Welt erhalten geblieben.

An diesem geschichtsträchtigen Ort, bekannt als Wiege der Amerikanischen Unabhängigkeit, hielt Thomas Paine seine radikalen Reden im Debattierklub des alten Gasthauses. Sein Werk „Common Sense“ verkaufte sich im Jahr 1776 eine halbe Million mal und beeinflusste auch die Unabhängigkeitserklärung, die im Verlauf desselben Jahres unterzeichnet wurde.

Holzverkleidungen, Eichenbalken und offene Kamine unterstreichen die einladende Atmosphäre. Das White Hart Hotel wurde grundlegend umgebaut und bietet einen Freizeitclub, ein Restaurant sowie Lounges für Gäste und Einheimische gleichermaßen.
